Bobby Labonte’s Life In The Fast Lane
If you’re like me, then you spend a lot of your time watching races on your Satellite TV and chances are the name Bobby Labonte has come up on more than a few occasions. Born in May 8, 1964 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Bobby was born a racer. He raced quarter midgets when he was five years old winning his first major race only a year later and from there it was just a small step to go-karts which would open the door to his stellar career.
Most of his later success came from a stint he did driving old-model stock cars where he won a dozen different races in Caraway Speedway. He spent some time in the local leagues and races before finally making that momentous jump into the exciting world of NASCAR, and from there his racing career only continued to skyrocket with 21 wins on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, 10 wins on the NASCAR Nationwide Series and 1 win on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – and he’s just getting started folks. Bobby Labonte and his brother, Terry, have both won the Cup series championship and are still out there tearing up the track and blazing through the finish.
